We're super stoked that the Arts Council England have decided to fund a second visit to Camp Aztitz!
And you all get to come along for the ride... whether you like it or not.
We're developing this YouTube Premiere as a direct response to the Covid-19 situation. We've always enjoyed being purveyors of mirth, through both appropriate and (mostly) inappropriate means - and we reckon we all need a good laugh now perhaps more than ever. The theatre world is in a funny old place at the moment, and besides feeling genuinely fortunate to be able to make commissioned work at this time, we're now presented with a set of creative choices that might not previously have been our go-to options.
One of the first conversations we had was, 'You know what else was great about the '80s? Really bad green screen.' So obviously, that meant we'd have no choice but to include some enjoyably naff green screen for your viewing pleasure - and it then became apparent that we had a veritable plethora of new creative opportunities to take advantage of, given we'd be in front of a camera (or two, or three) this time. Other things you can look forward to seeing, besides the above, include:
Intermittent '80s infomercials that are so realistic, you'll be wondering whether we came up with them ourselves, or just dug them up from the rusty YouTube archives
A Camp Talent Contest stuffed so full of raw, untapped genius, you'll be just blown away by the radness
An updated selection of the grooviest (and colour-clashiest) '80s fashion
Super Atmospheric Scenery including cabins, cabins, more cabins,
and a lake!
3D. Yes, 3D. 3-frickin'-D. Our technological prowess knows no bounds.
How does that sound?
It sounds great, obviously. Of course it does.
In case you remain unconvinced, here's a snippet of everyone's favourite socially awkward camper, Angela - and perpetually intense camp counsellor, Carol:
If you liked what you saw (and let's be honest, of course you did) please do feel free to diddle our like and subscribe buttons! We won't tell anyone...
Another exciting feature to watch out for - it's been a long process with a lot of hard work, but we're finally proud to announce completion of post production on our second feature film, 'Happy Little Bunnies'! Expect more updates and news on the film in future newsletters. For now, here's our spankin' new trailer...
We'll see you soon for a campfire singalong! YouTube Premiere date to be announced soon...
In the meantime, please help us spread the word by following us on social media.
